611 RECREATION MANAGEMENT

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Department of Recreation Management includes versatile training on organizing indoor and outdoor activities, arranging travel contents, and designing special programs for tourist groups of different conditions, in order to increase the general quality of life of individuals and to help them spend their leisure time productively outside of their daily routines. Accordingly, the entertainment industry, hotels, museums, libraries, ski resorts, thermal areas, theme parks, as well as mountaineering, camping, and photography activities are among the main options for employment for our graduates. The mission of the Department of Recreation Management is to expand the vision and competence of its students while making a positive difference in society and the lives of individuals participating in tourism activities. Our department seeks to be one of the dynamic education programs in our country with its diversified foreign language options, theoretical & practice-oriented education, activities carried out jointly with industry stakeholders and bilateral agreements with equivalent education institutions abroad.

Objective
It is aimed to give graduates who have a solid theoretical and practical background in recreation and tourism, are knowledgeable about technology and the digital world, are fluent in at least two foreign languages, have advanced leadership-communication-creativity and entrepreneurship skills, have a good command of crisis management techniques, care about professional ethics and the rights of the living.


Admission Requirements
Students are admitted to the Recreation Management Department with a verbal score type.

Graduation Requirements
For graduation from the Department of Recreation Management, it is required to pass all courses in the program [240 ECTS], to achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.30 out of 4.00, and to have completed the compulsory internship lasting 60 working days. Students can divide the internship period into two summer terms and complete it in half (30+30 working days) or once (60 working days).

In this context, the areas that offer job opportunities are as follows: Hotels and holiday villages, A group travel agencies, national and international airline companies, blue flag marina and yacht businesses, cruise ships and floating facilities, event and organization companies, congress-fair and festival centers, entertainment establishments and theme parks, sports-golf & swimming facilities, ski resorts, facilities providing health tourism services (medical, thermal, wellness, and spa centers), camping areas and facilities (such as natural life, weight loss, motivation, and yoga centers), Provincial Planning and Coordination Directorates serving under the governorships, Departments of Urban Aesthetics & Departments of Environmental Protection and Control & Directorates of Parks and Gardens serving within the municipalities, General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Health-Culture & Sports Departments in state and private universities, Ministry of Culture and Tourism & Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Non-governmental organizations-foundations-associations-professional associations-federations & confederations that play a role in the development of the tourism sector, museums and historical sites, libraries, state theaters and private theaters (team membership in charge of organization and preparation), social facilities of public institutions, media-communication & promotion organizations that broadcast tourism-themed, tourism-based non-governmental organizations serving disadvantaged groups, sports clubs.

Recognition of Prior Learning
For students demanding a transfer from higher education institutions in Türkiye to Pamukkale University, the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" are applied.

Access to Further Studies
Students who successfully complete their undergraduate education can apply to graduate (master's and doctoral) programs, provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam and have English language knowledge in accordance with the criteria of the target institution.
