253 COMPUTER ENGINEERING

GENERAL INFORMATION
The purpose of the program is to educate Computer Engineers who are dynamic, have up-to date information and can find solutions to real-world problems.

Objective
The programme provides the necessary background and technical skills to work professionally in computer hardware, software design, computer-based systems, computer network design, system integration or electronic design automation. Graduates are expected to apply scientific and engineering methodology to the design, implementation, analysis, and evaluation of computer based systems. The program provides a broad knowledge of theoretical and practical foundations of engineering and fundamental areas of computer science, such as algorithms, programming languages, web-based technologies, operating systems, computer architecture, database modeling and software engineering.

Admission Requirements
In order for students to enroll our program they need to have a high school diploma and a necessary score from a centralized national university placement examination.

Graduation Requirements
Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum successfully with no failing grades, including compulsory practical trainings, and have a minimum CGPA requirement as stated in Pamukkale University’s undergraduate program guidance.

Career Opportunties
Our graduates are hired by various organizations and companies in their computer sciences related units.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Possesses knowledge of mathematics, science, and fundamental engineering related to computer science. Uses this knowledge to solve complex engineering problems in the field using appropriate methods.
2Identifies and formulates complex engineering problems by utilizing fundamental science, mathematics, and engineering knowledge, while considering the sustainable development goals relevant to the problem.
3Offers creative solutions to complex engineering problems in computer science. Designs complex systems, processes, devices, or products in the field of information technologies, taking into account realistic constraints and conditions, to meet current and future requirements.
4Selects and uses appropriate theoretical and practical knowledge, including estimation and modeling, as well as techniques, resources, and modern engineering and informatics tools for solving problems in computer science, with awareness of their limitations.
5Conducts literature reviews, collects data, designs and performs experiments, and analyzes, interprets, and evaluates the results using research methodologies to solve and analyze complex problems in computer science.
6Is aware of the impacts of engineering practices on society, health and safety, economy, sustainability, and the environment within the scope of sustainable development goals, and understands the legal implications of engineering solutions in these areas.
7Understands professional and ethical responsibilities and relevant standards. Acts impartially without any discrimination and is aware of the importance of inclusiveness and diversity.
8Works effectively both individually and as a team leader or team member in mono-disciplinary or interdisciplinary projects, whether in face-to-face, remote, or hybrid work models, by applying the methods and techniques of computer science.
9Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, in Turkish and English, taking into account the diverse backgrounds (such as education, language, and profession) of the target audience in technical topics related to computer science.
10Has knowledge of business practices such as project management and economic feasibility analysis in the field of computer science and information technologies, as well as awareness of related international standards, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
11Engages in independent and lifelong learning to stay in harmony with the continuously evolving field of computer science and information technologies. Adapts to new and emerging technologies in the field and embraces a mindset of critical thinking related to technological changes.
TEACHING & LEARNING METHODS
NameComments
LecturingLecturing is one of the methods that come first, where the teacher is in the center. It is a method where the teacher actively describes topics and the students are passive listeners. With this method, lesson proceeds in the form of report, description and explanation.
DebateDepending on the situation, debate is a tool that allows all students, or a specific portion of the class to participate in the lesson. In this method, members of the group discuss a topic by addressing the various points of view and discuss alternative opinions about problem-solving.
DemonstrationIn this method the teacher demonstrates, an experiment, test, in front of the class. And then assists students to do so too. Students learn not only by just by looking and watching, but also by taking part and participating. This method is usually applied when teaching skills.
Case Study Case studies require students to actively participate while using an analytical perspective to think about real and problematic events. The problematic event may be real or very close to real life. Student(s) working on the documents that include the necessary data and descriptions of the
Problem SolvingThe name given to any doubt or ambiguity that arises is, a problem. Problems which usually have a role in human life, that have preventing or annoying aspects are solved by considering the stages of scientific methods. (a) Problems are determined. (b) The problem is identified.

PerformanceIn this method, the teacher performs activities such as experiments and demonstrations in front of the class, students try to learn by looking and watching. This method is usually applied where there are limited facilities and in dealing with dangerous experimental situations.
Vision Development This technique is not all the students in small groups, but all students participating in a study as a class. It is a discussion technique, used to teach students to respect others views and improve their vision, when thinking about conflicting points of view. Topics with apparent contradictions
