433 TOUR GUIDE TRAINING

GENERAL INFORMATION
The program accepts students with the TYT Score of YKS conducted by ÖSYM. Teaching language of the program is Turkish. In order to graduate, students must be successful in courses of 120 credits (ECTS). These courses consist of compulsory, professional elective and elective courses. In addition to the compulsory English courses spread over four semesters, students also receive second foreign language education. The second condition for students to graduate is compulsory internship. Students graduate by doing an internship for thirty (30) working days in businesses that meet the conditions specified for the Tourist Guidance Program. Students who meet these conditions receive the 'Tourist Guiding Associate Degree'. However, to become a tour guide, the students must join the trips organized by The Turkish Union of Tour Guides (TUREB) and must have a score of foreign language proficiency determined by the relevant legislation.

Objective
The aim of the program is train qualified tourist guides who gave a sufficient level of knowledge to promote our country to local and foreign visitors about its natural and cultural assets, have a good level of knowledge of foreign languages, know and promote our country with its history, culture and geography in the best way, have strong human relations and think analytically


Admission Requirements
The registration of candidates to vocational schools is made in accordance with the principles to be determined by the Council of Higher Education and the Interuniversity Board. Registration to the university is done by the candidate himself. However, the registration of those who have a just and valid excuse can also be made by their relatives. A student ID card is given to the student who is registered to the university for sure. To enroll in Vocational Schools; 1) To be a high school or equivalent vocational school graduate; Equivalence of diplomas obtained from foreign high schools must be approved by the Ministry of National Education, 2) As a result of the Student Selection and Placement Examination (ÖSYS), to be placed in the Tourist Guidance Program in that academic year through the central placement system.

Graduation Requirements

Career Opportunties
After fulfilling the necessary conditions to be able to provide guidance after graduation, the job opportunities of our graduates can be listed as follows. To carry out tours as a salaried employee of the A, B and C group travel agencies, which are members of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB). Working as a point guide in other historically and culturally important and frequently visited museums such as Dolmabahçe Palace or the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. In addition, to have the opportunity to guide on outgoing tours by participating in the international guidance training certificate programs organized by the Tourist Guidance (TUREB).

Recognition of Prior Learning
For students who want to transfer from higher education institutions in Turkey to Pamukkale University, the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Access to Further Studies
If the students are successful in the DGS exam after graduation, they have the opportunity to continue the related undergraduate program in formal, secondary education and open education.

2Know the legal regulations and professional standards in the field of travel services and tourist guidance.
3Knows the internal and external environmental factors that affect the Tourism and Travel Businesses.
4 Knows how the promotion, information, guidance, transportation, meeting-congress organization and other services are organized and presented in travel businesses.
5 Knows at least one foreign language at the A2 level of the European Language Portfolio.
6Easily apply the theoretical and practical knowledge gained in school and internship studies in the sector.
7 Analyze the problems faced in the sector and find solutions with the theoretical and practical experience gained.
8Communication slkills are good and adapts to teamwork.
9Knows the agency transactions, tour planning, tour operator and operation management, guidance services practices in travel businesses and takes an active role in these practices.
10 Have detailed information about the historical and touristic places of Turkey.
11By leading the groups in cultural tours, introduces the cultural and geographical features of the visited regions in detail.
12Have information about the basic rules of first aid.
13They specialize in various religious beliefs, mythology, art history, archeology, and transfer this knowledge to local and foreign tourists during their cultural tours and perform the task of promoting the region and country they are in.
14It adheres to national and ethical values and pays attention to these values in its work.
15 Have information about the history and basic rules of different religions in the world.
16Gain the ability to present any subject in an understandable way.
