Course Objective
To provide information about moleküler symmetry and group theory, especially applications of the symmetry and group theory and molecular energy levels and determine the transition of the levels.
Course Content
Symmetry operations and symmetry elements, point groups and point group determination, high symmetry point groups, chiral molecules, character tables, mulliken symbols, symmetry of atomic orbitals, spectroscopic selection rules, reduction process, applications; polarity, kiralite, NMR, vibration modes.
