COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level
Doctorate Degree
Course Type
Elective
Course Objective
Understanding of geometric relationship between linear structures and folds. To learn how to apply structural analyses in interpreting tectonically deformed terranes. The understanding of application scopes of stereographic projection.
Course Content
Microstructure and tectonic fabric, minor folds, kink bands, cleavage and foliation, structures of budinage, mullions, joint and veins of tension, shear fractures, shear zones and lineations. Geometric relationships between macro tectonic structures and all of these structures and also relationships between strain-deformation. Oriented hand specimens taking from field. Lineation at microskopic scale, schistosity-cleavage (S-C fabric) relationships, analysis of polyphase deformations.
Prerequisites
No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite
