Course Objective The aim and objectives of the “Model Organisms” course is studying different model organisms, learning how and when to use them.
Course Content Model Organisms: Escherichia coli. Sacchormyces cerevisia. Schizosaccharomyces pombe. Drosophila melanogaster. Zebrafish. Mus musculus. Rattus norvegicus. Dictyostelium discoideum. Xenopus. Arabidopsis thaliana. Right use of an model organism: Learning to use the right model organism for a planned experiment. Advantages and disadvantages of each model organism for special kind of experiments.
