COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective Teaching mathematical concepts and mathematical relationships by using concrete, semi-abstract abstract mathematical modelings and in this way stimulating mathematical thinking.
Course Content Developing the number concepts and sense of counting, and improving the meaning of four operations, learning the basic rules for four operations, developing the concept of place value about natural numbers, and developing calculation and guessing strategies, generalization on algebraic thinking and detecting patterns, developing fraction concepts and strategies for fraction calculations, showing concrete, semi-abstract abstract modelings about the development of the concepts of decimals and percentages and in this way proviving mathematical thinking.
