Course Objective The purpose of this class is to introduce graduate students to the theories, assumptions and practices underlying the use of qualitative research and to support them qualitative research experience .
Course Content The topics of this course will be nature of qualitative research (philosophical, epistemological, theoretical); the types and characteristics of qualitative research( basic, phenomenology, ground theory, ethnography, case study, action research, life history); data collection methods in qualitative research (interview, observation and document collection), data analysis and writing reports in qualitative research, and ethics in qualitative research.
