The aim of this course is to give graduate students detailed information about advanced materials.
Course Content
Solidification, nucleation and growth process in materials and alloys. Atomic arrangements in the crystalline solid. Crystal interface and microstructure. Flaw in metals and alloys. Formation and growth of second phase particles in the matrix. Phase diagrams. Diffusion in solids, Metallic glasses, Microstructural stability. Optical, magnetic properties and electrical conductivity. Shape memory alloys. Metallic Foams. Rapid prototyping. Advanced industrial alloys
