Course Objective To gain basic knowledge about the biological, anatomical and histological principles of propagation of fruit species.
Course Content General information about seed and seed selection; stages of germination and measurement of germination; fusion of the vaccination site between rootstock and pencil and factors affecting this, physiological relations between rootstock and pencil, incompatibility of vaccine and causes of incompatibility; anatomical and histological principles of propagation; anatomical development of roots in cuttings, physiological principles of root formation; types of dipping and factors affecting dipping and propagation; issues to be considered in the propagation of standard fruit varieties; dwarfing of fruit trees and growing healthy plant material; systems used for propagation.
