Course Objective The goal of this lecture is get knowledge on major cell structures and organelles of eukaryotic and prokaryotic and functions of organelles, bacterial genome and expression, mutation and natural genetic material transformations and cell growth mechanisms.
Course Content Basic cell structures of eukaryotic and prokaryotic microorganisms, the difference between cell structure of bacteria, fungi, algae and protozoa, nucleus and bacterial genome, DNA and its chemistry and replication, genetic code, protein synthesis, mutation, mitosis, meiosis, structures and functions of internal cell organelles and granules, cell membrane and cell wall, membrane transport system, structures and functions of flagella and pili and capsule and slime. .
