Course Objective Understanding of computer systems, network structures and protocols. Introduction of devices to be used in a network environment. Wired and wireless networks, network security infrastructure necessary to inform students about. Graduate students with basic knowledge to be a good catch up and create an infrastructure to adapt to developments in modern communications systems.
Course Content Structural models of computer networks (LAN, MAN, WAN, etc.) / Protocol hierarchies / OSI reference model and TCP/IP reference model / Communication services (X.25, Frame Relay, ISDN) / Connection devices (Transmission medium and devices) / Routing protocols / Addressing strategies / Interface components.
