COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Master's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective To provide the fundamental information for analyzing discrete-time signals and systems and to gain the graduate students the ability of applying this information on real data.
Course Content Examples of discrete time signals and systems; time domain analysis of discrete time LTI systems; Z-Transform analysis of LTI systems; transfer functions and stability; discrete time system frequency response and digital filters; discrete time Fourier Series; discrete time Fourier Transform and DFT; sampling and sampling theorem.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Understand concepts of discrete-time signals and their properties.
2Understand concepts of discrete-time systems and their properties.
3Can compute discrete time system response by computing convolution sums for analytical and real data.
4Understand concepts of sampling theorem, aliasing, block diagram representation and Analog-to Digital converters.
5Can compute discrete-time Fourier series and transform and DFT of analytic and real data. Plot the spectrum and interpret them. Apply Fourier Transforms to analyze discrete time LTI systems.
6Understand concepts of ideal filters. Design and understand simple finite impulse response filters and implement on real data.
