Course Objective To be able to comprehend the concepts of population and demography and to follow the current issues of population research, to explain the geographical bases of the factors affecting population growth, to understand the dilemma of population growth and development together with regional socio-economic and spatial differences.
Course Content It provides an overview of classical and contemporary theories of population science and population studies. Informing about the concepts of population and demography, geographical approach in population studies and new issues on the agenda of population studies. Explanation of births, deaths and migration factors that determine population growth in the world, as well as making comparative evaluations in terms of developed and less developed countries.
