Course Objective The parts of English Fantastic Fiction as a literary genre overlapping with science fiction, mythology and supernatural will be exemplified with English science fiction.
Course Content The main focus is especially on the 19th and 20th century science fiction novels in English Literature.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Knows the main concepts of the genre of science fiction.
2Learns how science fiction forms a fictional world in English fantastic literature.
3Learns how to evaluate science fiction novels with regard to the other types of novel.
4Identifies the fact that sicence fiction is not just a part of popular culture, but that it dates back to the 18th century.
5Compares works of Utopia and science fiction.
6Learns why the works of science fiction increased in number especially in the 19th century.
7Compares the science fiction novels from the beginning until the 19th century.
8Identifies the difference of the features of 20th century science fiction novel with regard to the previous centuries.
9Recognizes that each century forms its own work of science fiction with different examples.
10Reads and interprets by comparing the works with different literary works.
11By making a research about the works expressses the findings in written form.
