SOS 551MIGRATION AND IMMIGRATION ISSUES3 + 02nd Semester6

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Master's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective In recent years, migrations, which are seen as an escape with no clear destination country, are often irreversible, sometimes successful, often unsuccessful one-way departures. This process, which is clearly expressed as a crisis, has started to be evaluated as unsolvable. Although migration policies produced all over the world are shaped by the perspective on differences, there is a need for a perspective that includes all dimensions such as the different types of migration, who are the actors involved in different stages, the objectivity of the concepts produced, whether they cover all stages in the form of pre-migration, migration routes and post-migration. The aim of this study is to make general determinations and unique experiences on migration and immigration with the help of existing theories, and to contribute to the accumulation of knowledge by creating a historical and holistic perspective.
Course Content Migration and immigration, one of today's major problems, have emerged as a result of economic and political processes, including natural disasters. Migration and immigration, which gained momentum with the impact of the globalization process in the 1980s, is a comprehensive issue that should be addressed from a historical and holistic perspective rather than being seen as a problem in itself.
