The objective of this course is to give insights on development of public policies in Turkey; and to explain some of them in detail.
Course Content
Public policy analysis is a study field which started to be a interdisciplinary tendency since post-1950 period that mainly aims at producing some support on development process of future public policies by analyzing current policies. In this course it is firstly aimed at analysis and evaluation of those public policies present. At this point, those models in public policy analysis are at the heart of the study. Therefore, public policy approach, policy process and elements, policy delineation (actors, orders, and limits), policy actualization (actors, organizational structures, norms, communication, barriers etc), policy evaluation and policy termination are among the main titles of the course scope. The aim of this lecture is to evaluate the basic concepts, tools, and institutions of the policy analysis in Turkey. The policy formulation process and potential threats are comprised of this very aim of the lecture.
