COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Type Compulsory
Course Objective To teach dental caries, etiology and microbiology. To teach the structure of saliva and its relationship with caries formation. Restoration techniques, materials, indications, finishing and polishing operations to explain. To give information about reasons of failure in restorations and ways to achieve success in restorations. To teach restoration techniques, materials, indications, finishing and polishing processes on phantom robots.
Course Content The classsification and description of dental caries. The factors that has roles on caries. The effects of saliva on oral health. Dental plaque. Fluoride and the effects of fluoride on caries. Enamel, dentin and root caries. Dental caries diagnosis and plan the treatment. Dentin pins, metal, composite, ceramic inlays and onlays and laminate restorations and the indications,contrindications and importance of these conservative restorations. Matrix bands and dental materials, Restoration of canal treated teeth and required dental materials, Pinal amalgam restorations, composite restorations.
