COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective Defining the importance of oral health, caries prevalence of children in our country, community oral health, preventive dental approaches, mother and child nutrition in prevention of caries, incidence and prevention of hypoplasia, prevention and restoration of discoloured teeth. To teach the importance of protective dentistry and protective dentistry applications To assist the integration of clinical and social skills of health care professionals and motivate them to act as health care professional caring for the community as well as individuals. Our school have adopted a multidisciplinary approach using personnel from different departments.
Course Content Ülkemiz Çocuklarında Çürük Prevelansı; Ağız Hijyeni Motivasyonu ağız sağlığı programları,bireysel fluorid uygulamaları ve fluorid reçeteleri;fluorid toksikolojisi;diş çürüğünden ve hipoplaziler ve korunma yolları dersin içeriğini oluşturmaktadır. Toplum ağız ve diş sağlığı ile ortodontinin ilişkisi. Büyük populasyonlarda periodontal değerlendirme için kullanılan indeks sistemleri, toplumda periodontal sağlık için yapılması gereken işlemler, periodontal hastalıklardan korunma yöntemleri, diş hekimliğinde epidemiyoloji, ağız diş sağlığı ile genel sağlık arasındaki ilişki Sabit protetik restorasyonların taşıması gereken temel nitelikler; ağız mikroflorasına etkileri; protez öncesi, sonrası ve yapım aşamalarında periodontal sağlığa etkileri. Protezlerin bakım ve temizliği, ağız hijyeni, ağızda kalan dişlerin planlama yönünden önemi. Protez kullanımı ve geriatri, protezlerin temizliği ve hijyenin korunması, yaşlı hastada beslenmenin önemi. Oral kanser nedir, teşhis yöntemleri, farklı toplumlarda görülme sıklığı, en çok rastlanılan tipleri.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Competent at improving the oral health of children, families and groups in the community. Acquire information about taking care of the oral conditions of the individuals in treatment planning and the possible effects of the performed treatment. Diagnose and manage of oral cancer and epidemiology of oral cancer.
