COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective	To teach the causes of diseases that occur in the living organism, formation mechanisms and morphology. To teach etiopathogenesis and clinicopathologic features of oral and maxillofacial region diseases and to inform about differential diagnosis.
Course Content	Introduction to Pathology- Cellular Adaptation anal Degeneration, Necrosis, apoptosis, edema, hemodynamic disorders, nutritional disorders, Inflamation, amyloidosis, Connective tissue disorders, Immunopathology, wound healing, carsinogenesis, neoplasm. Puypal and periodonthal disorders- odontogenic and nonodontogenic cysts and tumors- Pathology of salivary gland, stomatitis, whitelesions of mucosa, premalignant lesions, oral cancer, pigmentations of oral and perioral tissues, vesiculobullous Diseases, Neuropathology.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

1	To define cellular adaptive response, cellular degenerations, necrosis and apoptosis. To summarize the hemodynamic disorders. To summarize inflammation. Entitle and classify neoplasms and explain carcinogenesis. Summarize pathologic findings of oral-perioral infections.
