COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Bachelor's Degree

Course Objective The basic principles of surgical applications, general systemic diseases, and treatment of medical emergencies, wound treatment, and sterilization and disinfection methods, antibacterial agents and informing about prescribing.
Course Content Basic principles of surgical applications; systemic diseases and prophylaxis in terms of dentistry; medical emergencies and treatment; wound healing; infection control in surgical practice; tooth extraction techniques; instruments used in surgical practice; impacted tooth pathogenesis; diagnosis and surgical applications; endodontic surgical principles, incision-suturing techniques and materials; biopsy; treatment and prophylactic use of antibiotics in dentistry.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To be able to describe the evaluation of the surgical patient and the examination methods. To be able to describe systemic diseases frequently encountered in dentistry. To be able to define the rules to be followed in oral surgery, the concepts of asepsis and antisepsis, infection control. To be able to recognize important anatomical formations in mouth, and face area. To be able to describe the instruments used in oral and maxillofacial surgeons and their usage areas.
