Course Objective Teaching the local anesthetic technique. Teaching the local anesthetic solutions used in dentistry and their properties, contents, duration of action, dosages and trade names. Teaching the definition of sedation, the aims sedation in children and mental retarded, the techniques of sedation, the drugs that can be used for sedation and their dosages, Teaching the medical emergencies that can be occurred in patients in the dental office and prevention and management of these situations, Giving information to the dental students about the situations that they apply or not the techniques of the local anesthesia to their dental patients.
Course Content Introduce the anesthesiology local and physiology of Nerve, N. Trigeminus, anesthetic drugs, indications and contraindications of local anesthesia in the field of dentistry, vasoconstrictor drugs sedation in children and mental retards, systemic emergencies and their managements.
