Course Objective	To teach the physical, chemical, biological properties and clinical and laboratory utilization of dental materials. To grant the students the capability of selecting the appropriate materials according to the patients needs.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

2	The students who completed this course successfully will be able to; Learn the dental materials used in laboratory and in clinic. Know the intended using of these dental materials. Gain the capability of selecting the appropriate material according to the case.
1	Introduction to materials, materials used in dentistry and their properties. Physical properties of dental materials. Mechanical properties of dental materials. Characteristics and classification of impression materials. Zinc oxide eugenol-based impression materials. Elastomeric impression materials. Polymers and polymerization. Prosthetic base materials.
