Course Objective The purpose of Media Literacy Course is to help students gain necessary media literacy knowledge and skills, reach the proficiency to use their knowledge and skills as a frame in their daily lives, and develop sensitivity to the local and global issues linked to the media.
Course Content General characteristics of mass media (newspapers, journals, radio, television, internet, etc.); effects of mass media on kids, young generation and society; persuasion techniques; deconstructing media messages; information search skills; evaluating media messages; producing media messages; designing activities to teach media literacy subjects.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

1Explains basic concepts.

3Explains the positive and negative impact of the media to the society.
4Identifies the main persuasion/propaganda techniques.
5Uses information search skills to reach various messages.
6Demonstrates critical attitute toward recieved media products.
7Evaluates the messages received from various media channels.
8Produces media messages for various media.
9Evaluates the impact of media’s commercial aspect on messages.
10Participates in the social life using the media effectively.
