COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the relationship between culture and visuality, to do research in this field, to learn approaches to different disciplines related to visual culture and to develop their skills of discussion and writing. For this purpose, students will get acquainted with the critical approaches they can apply to images, images, objects and other visual elements encountered in different media. In addition to this, it is aimed to increase the students' ability to create a creative study with simple collage designs.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Students will be able to define what the visual culture is, what it covers and learn about the comments and discussions about the visual culture.
2Students can classify the diversity brought by visual culture and develop creative thinking in terms of cultural elements in the media content.
3Students will have information about the basic elements and stages of the production processes of visual and audio media.
4Student analyzes the function of visual image in consumption culture.
5Students are able to personalize the art history and the current examples through the application of collages. Learn to create a “moodboard” or an “infographic” visual work.
