Course Objective
To teach mechanical components, materials, design methods, selection criteria for the standard machine elements.
Course Content
Definition and classification of machine elements, ISO tolerances, the general principles of strength, static design principles and design criterias, continuous strength and fatigue, material selection, welding, soldering and adhesive bonding, riveted joints, pins and pivots, shaft-hub connections, bolted connections, springs, shafts and axles, couplings, rolling and sliding bearings.
