Course Objective The aim of the course is to teach destructive test methods which are applied to metallic materials. These methods will be teached as both theoretically and practically. Students will be able to learn how to make and how to prepare standart test samples.
Course Content Destructive testing of materials, Tensile testing, Compression testing, Hardness testing, Impact testing, Creep testing, Fatigue testing, Bending and folding testing, Torsion testing, Fracture mechanism and Fracture toughness testing, and Erichsen cupping testing of metallic sheet and strip of materials.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
11- To categorize in terms of aim, method and form of testing methods of metallic materials
2Able to distinguish using aims of mechanical/ destructive materials testing methods
3Able to classify the methods of measuring hardness of materials and able to experiment in accordance with the standards and working principles
4To calculate mechanical properties of metallic materials according to result of tensile and compression testing in accordance with standards
5To categorize in terms of mechanical behaviours of materials and to relate the effect of material properties of the experimental conditions
6To categorize the impact testing and ductility testing of sheet, able to distinguish their working principles
7To distinguish working principles of creep, fatigue and torsion testing for metallic materials and to calculate mechanical properties of metallic materials in accordance with related standards
