Course Objective This course emphasizes the importance of ethical understanding to engineerig students.In the frame of this course it is taught how and why to behave ethical way when performing the engineering profession,as well as the measures of ethical behavıours.The course aims to discuss the distinction and similarities between ethical understanding and moral values by studying several cases
Course Content Concept of moral and ethic values differences,similarities,brief review of the history of moral philosophy,comparison with other values,ethical approaches of enginnering societies(NSPE National Society of Professional Eng.-IEEE- Instıtute of Electronıcs and Electrical Engineers etc.) Ethical codes,theories on professinal progress
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Undestanding the concept of ethics and moral values
2Comprehending similarities and distinction between ethics and other values
3Pinpointing the relations of ethical approach with efficiency and scarce resources
4Understanding the relations between ethical values and the environment
5Creating a discussion platform for different ideas and views and ensuring people to respect the others , their ideas and views
6Using proper language(Turkish) skılls while analysing and discussing the ideas and cases
7Developing the professional culture of engineering students of different diciplines by discussing the cases
8Developing an understanding how to co-operate with different diciplines in the professional life and how to reach consensus
9Discussing, analysing and getting conclusıons from cases chosen from engineering history
