Course Objective To educate the students about strategically important element boron. To present industrial knowledge about boron and boron derivatives. To teach borax, boric acid, and per-borate production technologies. In these process, to present some examples about mass balance calculations.
Course Content Properties of boron minerals and elemental boron, boron reserves and production technologies, boric acid, borax and production technologies, and manufacturing technologies Sodium perborate, boric acid, borax and perborate and solutions to problems encountered in the production of, boron carbide and boron nitride production technologies, use of boron compounds fields of glass, porcelain, cleaning agents, and nuclear industries, agriculture and metallurgy.
