Course Objective To introduce casting techniques as a metal shaping techcniques. To give an adaquate knowledge of mold design using computer techniques
Course Content General principles of casting, solidification, terms of cooling and heat transferring, effects of rate of heat transffering and cooling on solidifacition, principles of liquid flow and runner mechanism, determine the cooling time by modular term, to determine of shrinkage on casting by feeding calculation, forming of part of casting model by CAD programme, introduction of casting simulation programmes, properties of vulcan casting program, casting on sand moulding, low pressure and high pressure die casting applications, analyzis of soloidification and cooling, analyzis of stress and it’s effects of applications.
