Course Objective
To teach gas turbine principles, design and calculation methods.
Course Content
Types of gas turbines, operating principles and system components. Simple Brayton cycle, cycles of gas turbines with intercooler, interheater and recuperator, the pressure loss of the gas turbine combustion chambers, gas turbines in various application areas, gas turbine cycles used in aircraft, loss of energy and the irreversibility of the gas turbine cycles. Thermodynamic calculations on gas turbine cycles.
