Course Objective The objective of this course is to introduce advanced topics in the theory of strength of materials through the ?strength of materials approach?.
Course Content Analysis of stress and stress notation, Transformation of stress, principal stress, Mohr circle, Three-dimensional stress analysis and transformation, Strain and Stress-Strain Relations, Three-dimensional Strain and Stress-Strain Relations, Elasticity theory and its equations, Two dimensional problems in cartesian and polar coordinates, Special problems in three dimensional elasticity, Inelastic Behaviour Stress-strain diagram for elastoplastic materials, Basic equations of plate theory, Beams on elastic foundations
