Course Objective	Recognize materials used in industrial areas, comprehend basic characteristics of these materials and select most appropriate materials
Course Content	Mechanics of machining and chip formation. Breakers, chipping hammers. Cutting forces in cutting, force measurement and calculation. And measurement of tool wear, tool wear mechanisms. Finishing surfaces, and measurement of surface roughness. Heat and temperature distribution, heat and temperature measurement and calculation tool life and tool life models. The cost of processing and handling the economy. Processing on the properties of tool geometry, tool selection and tool holder selection. Workability and machinability parameters. Relationship between material properties. Factors affecting the machinability. Evaluation of machinability, workability tests and measurements.
