Course Objective To debate on planning agenda by explaining the main terms such as "city" and "planning"; To evaluate urban development process in historical context; To define urban perception in terms of spatial characteristic and functional identity.
Course Content To define the main conceptual terms such as city and planning, to debate on the planning agenda depending on historical background:urban development process and its factors; To explain urban hierarchy: "Existics" and "Ecumenopolis"; Planning hierarchy, plans and their qualifications; Urban planning process and its stages depending on strategic spatial planning approach; To define urban land use patterns and urban forms
