Course Objective The aim of this course is to discuss the current global perspectives in the theory and practices of city and regional planning discipline and to develop a critical perspective on planning practices in Turkey within this framework, to internalize the social and environmental dimension of planning and to enlighten the interaction of different disciplines with planning.
Course Content In this course, the social, environmental and technical dimensions of planning will be discussed in the context of current literature and practices. The content of this course consists of international and national problems, trends and best practices in planning in the focus of gender equality, social vulnerability, migration, environmental justice, climate justice, participation in planning, governance, innovation, smart city, resilient city, circular city concepts.
