Course Objective Introduce to common used plastics with versatile in daily life
Course Content Introduction to plastics. Production methods of plastics; classification of plastics; designation of plastics; shapes of internal structures of plastics; material inspection of plastics; additive of plastics; technical excursion; prevalent thermoplastics and their properties; prevalent thermosets and their properties; determination of plastics by experimental methods; production principles of thermoplasts; plastic injection casting and extrusion; other production principles of thermoplasts; technical excursion; production principles of thermosets. Effect of plastics on environment and recycling.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1By the course of Plastic Materials; students learn that properties of plastics, kinds of plastics, production methods of plastics, using area of plastics, and short designations of plastics. Furthermore, by technical excursion to firms that product plastic, they can see applications of plastics’ production and where plastics are used. And also teaching effect of plastics on environment.
