Course Objective To have a grasp of main concepts such as main ideologies, democratic and non-democratic systems and constitutional order, the development of modern nation-state, the relation between state and citizens, globalization, subjects of political culture.
Course Content Ideology, Democracy, Nationalism and Nation-state, Political culture, Civil Society, Political Regimes.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1It defines the different meanings of ideology and grasps the arise, purpose and effects of ideology.
2It grasps of the meaning of democracy and recognizes the elements of contemporary democracy.
3It analyzes how the political currents direct the society and the state.
4It analyzes the factors which led to the emergence of nation-state and concrete political developments.
5It analyzes the process and the consequences of globalization.
