COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The goal of this course is to analyze the nature and basic institutions of politics, political processes and to apply some basic concepts such as state, power, authority, legitimacy, class, elections, voting behavior into concrete political institutions and processes.
Course Content Political science and positivism, definition of political science, the relations among political science and other social sciences, power, legitimacy, sovereignty, state, political participation, types of participation and political behavior, political parties, bureaucracy, pressure groups-public opinion, elections and techniques of elections.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

1It defines the main concept of political science.
2In the context of history of political thought, it denotes which subjects are traditionally interested by political science.
3Comparatively discusses the contemporary subjects which fall within the scope of political science.

5Analyzes the process and the political consequences of globalization.
