COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective	To provide students with knowledge and skills related to the teaching of orientation and mobility skills to individuals with visual impairments.
Course Content	Orientation and teaching orientation skills; teaching internal and external environmental concepts; clue (sensory clues), sign (environmental cues) concepts, their principles, prerequisites and instructional plans; search methods, measurement skills and compass directions, their principles, prerequisites and instructional plans; teaching of mobility skills (protection techniques, guide skills, cane skills, etc.); analysis of independent movement skills and preparation of measurement tools; creation of teaching processes in acquisition, fluency and generalization stages; adaptations for students with low vision and students with multiple disabilities; route instruction.
