COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective This course aims to provide general information about the characteristics of the gifted and talented students and of the students with learning disabilities and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, the diagnostic processes, the teaching methos to be used in their education, the evaluation processes and the teaching adaptations.
Course Content Basic concepts; students with learning disability / attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder; gifted and talented students; classification: educational, psychological, medical; prevalence and frequency of occurrence; sources: prenatal, moment of birth, postnatal; screening / diagnosis: medical, developmental and educational screening / diagnosis; academic and non-academic characteristics; team and cooperation; education-training environments; scientific based practices; characteristics of families; students with learning difficulty / attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, attitudes towards gifted and talented students and their families; services offered to families, support and legal rights.
