Course Objective The students will be able to comprehend the basic concepts of the measurement and assessment, properties measured in education, measuring instruments and their properties; will be able to develop instruments examples; will be able to apply some statistics on measurement results; will be able to made assessment on measurement results.
Course Content Importance of measurement and assessment in education, basic concepts of assessment and measurement, properties that an inventory ought to have (reliability, validity), inventories used in education and their features, inventories based on traditional approaches (written exams, short answered exams, true-false tests, multiple choices tests, homework), multifaceted inventories (interview, performance evaluation, portfolio, research papers, research projects, peer evaluation, self evaluation, attitudes inventories), basic statistical procedures on assessment results, evaluation of learning outcomes, noting, developing an inventory about own field.
