COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Associate's Degree
Course Type Compulsory
Course Objective Teaching the basic concepts of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), how to control an operation with PLC and teach programming methods, transferring control logic to PLC, providing knowledge about electrical machines and control circuits.
Course Content Automatic control symbols, control circuits, control of electric motors. Contactors, magnetic and thermal circuit breakers and electromagnetic components. Limit switches, pressure switches, time relays, thermostats and valves. Command and control features of AC motors, starting techniques. Examination of motor speed control circuits, PLC programming; Basic logical operations in PLC, complex logical operations.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

3Writes PLC program using sequential function blocks.
