Course Objective The aim of this course is to enable students to think beyond "mass" tourism and to examine new forms of tourism that are consistent with natural social and community values and also allow hosts to enjoy positive worthwhile interactions and shared experiences. It will focus on several forms of Special Interest Tourism that have the potential to meet the needs of tourists including rural tourism, adventure and nature based tourism, cultural and heritage tourism, and festival and event tourism.
