COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to enable phylogenetic analysis by obtaining gene regions of living things with marker technologies and using various computer programs, and to provide information about the advanced techniques used.
Course Content DNA-RNA structure, DNA isolation and PCR, Use of databases, Editing and comparison of DNA sequences, Evolutionary changes in DNA sequences and nucleotide substitution models, Nucleotide saturation, BLAST, Package programs (MEGA, DAMBE, PAUP, PhyML, RAXMLGUI, MrBayes, BEAST, FigTree, SplitsTree) and their uses, Methods used to create trees in molecular phylogenetic analyzes (distance, parsimony, neighbor-joining, maximum likelihood and Bayesian methods), Network analysis.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
