COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Master's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective In an ever-changing and evolving world, the pharmaceutical industry assumes a pivotal role as a critical sector responsible for safeguarding humanity's most fundamental necessities: the preservation of health and the enhancement of quality of life. Therefore, in an environment that targets advanced technological applications and innovations, getting to know pharmaceuticals closely and understanding them through molecular approaches aims to nurture individuals who can keep up with developments in the field. The goal of this course is to provide a pharmacological perspective, enabling students to become experts, scientists, and researchers who possess the necessary knowledge and skills required by the era, who think scientifically, and who can contribute to science.
Course Content Introduction to pharmacology and basic concepts. Practical drug information. Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Drug action mechanisms. New drug/vaccine development; preclinical and clinical research. In vivo and in vitro molecular methods in assessing drug effects.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Learns the definition of pharmacology and fundamental concepts.
2Acquires knowledge about drug classification, indications/contraindications, interactions, and side effects.
3Understands the cellular and molecular mechanisms of drug action.
4Interprets the significance of the discovery and development process of new drugs and vaccines.
