Course Objective Powder metallurgy, one of the five production methods, includes the production of extremely important machine parts starting from powder, steps such as pressing, sintering, final processes, the properties of materials produced by powder metallurgy, powder production methods and their areas of use in technology, cutting tools, refractory metals, bearings, electrical contact. To teach the production and properties of materials, metallic brushes, etc. within the scope of this course.
Course Content Steps of powder metallurgy, powder production; atomization, production metallurgy methods, densification processes, fiber production, liquid spinning and roll casting, mechanical powder preparation, powder pre-treatment, powder tests and inspection, powder mixing and blending, pressing, injection molding, pre-sintering, sintering, hot and cold isostatic pressing, secondary operations, other methods used in the production of high density powder products, properties of powder metallurgy products, design of powder metallurgy products, powder metallurgy products, powder systems and applications, advantages and disadvantages of powder metallurgy.
