Course Objective The aim of this course is to introduce organic agriculture in horticultural crops, the importance of organic agricultural products, all the stages required to start organic agriculture, organic fruit, vegetable, vineyard and ornamental plants cultivation techniques, harvesting, post-harvest and marketing techniques.
Course Content The concept of organic agriculture, environmental pollution and agriculture, organic agriculture in the world, basic principles of organic agriculture, Seed Selection, Plant Nutrition and Soil Improvement Agents, Agricultural Control Agents, Organic Agriculture in Turkey, Organic Agriculture Law, Control and Certification, Transition to Organic Agriculture, Trade, Production, Foreign Market, Advantages and Disadvantages of Organic Agriculture, Definition of sustainable agriculture, aims and tools, objectives, biological control and biotechnology will be explained.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
