Course Objective The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge of strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, fig, blackcurrant, gooseberry and blueberry and other berry fruits; their production in the world and in our country, their place in the systematic, morphological, physiological, biological characteristics, soil and climate requirements, propagation, garden establishment, cultural operations, marketing.
Course Content Definition of berries; importance of strawberry cultivation, important producing countries and production quantities, place in the systematic and important varieties, morphological and biological characteristics, ecological requirements, propagation, planting systems, cultural treatments, harvesting, storage and utilization areas, control of diseases and pests; Importance of raspberry, blackberry and blackcurrant cultivation, important growing countries, their place in the systematics and important varieties, morphological and biological characteristics, ecological requirements, propagation methods, pruning and training systems, other cultural treatments, harvesting, preservation and uses; blueberry cultivation and introduction of other Vaccinium species such as cranberry, tea grape, shepherd's grape.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Provides the necessary information about the distribution, production, trade, ecological requirements, cultivation, cultivars used in cultivation of grape fruit species.
2To have knowledge about nutritional values, morphology, fertilization biology, physiology and breeding of grape fruit species.
3It teaches basic information about fertilization, irrigation, pruning, care, etc. of grape fruit species.
