Course Objective The aim of the course is to give the students theoretical and practical knowledge on vegetable recognition, classification, vegetable garden establishment, seed sowing, irrigation, mechanization and harvesting.
Course Content The concept of vegetables, the history of vegetable production, the importance of human health and nutrition, the place of vegetable production in the national economy, vegetable production areas and production quantities, Turkey vegetable production regions and their characteristics, vegetable production business forms, issues to be considered when establishing a vegetable garden (climatic factors), Issues to be considered when establishing a vegetable garden (climatic factors), Issues to be considered when establishing a vegetable garden (soil factors, direction and location), Establishment of the vegetable garden, Establishment of the vegetable garden, Mechanization and tillage in vegetable gardening, Irrigation in vegetables, Reproduction methods in vegetables, Harvesting and market preparation in vegetables will be explained.
