Recreation Department is the one of the four departments in School of Sport Sciences and Technologies in Pamukkale University. Department of Recreation has started to education in 2003 and first students were graduated in 2008. Recreation Department’s academic stuffs and students have been growing day by day. Now, Recreation Department has been continuing his education with its 10 academic staff and 130 students.

To help understanding the importance of recreation as a science in academic and social life and to contribute to eliminate the deficiency about recreation in Turkey, to develop an awareness on need of specialist person, to educate person in the light of universal values, adherent to Ataturk's principles and reforms, respectful to the human rights, experienced and knowledgeable in the recreation area. To contribute the developing of recreation science and applications by the recreation educators that are trained and researches that are done in national and international level and to lead to create healthy and physically active population with trained persons and academic researchers.
